Interfaith Caregivers of Ozaukee County, in partnership with Senior Corps, invites the Ozaukee community to a symposium on Preventing Elder Abuse in Ozaukee County.
Topics include how to recognize abuse of the elderly, how to report it and ways to prevent it. A panel of experts will speak on common frauds and scams that target seniors, keeping seniors safe and setting up financial and medical power of attorney.
Presenters include Kathy Glaser, Dementia Care Specialist from the Aging and Disability Resource Center; Liza Drake, Director of Ozaukee County Department of Human Services; Jane Miller, a lawyer specializing in elder law and estate planning; and Lois Roeske, Vice President and Bank Manager for Port Washington State Bank.
Members of the community are encouraged to attend the event and to bring their questions for the Q&A session afterward. This is the first symposium in a series that will address issues impacting seniors in our community.
The symposium is free, but you must RSVP to reserve your seat. RSVP by Nov. 9 to dloveridge@interfaithozaukee.org or call (262) 376-5362.
