Bridge the Divide presents the 3rd movie in the “Come Meet the Family!” film series - Real Women Have Curves. After the film, participants are invited to talk with and ask questions of a talkback respondent from the culture represented in the story (see brief bio below)
FREE and open to the public, ages 13 and up (We appreciate donations to Bridge the Divide).

REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES: Ana, a 1st generation Mexican-American teenager, lives in predominantly Latino East LA. Just graduated from high school, she receives a full scholarship to Columbia U. But now that she’s a young woman, her parents need her to help provide for the family. How can Ana care for both herself and her family?

DR STEPHANIE RIVERA BERRUZ is an assistant professor at Marquette University. She received her Ph.D. in Philosophy from SUNY Buffalo in 2014. She is the recipient of the Woodrow Wilson Career Enhancement Fellowship (2017-2018) for her work on Latinx feminisms and Latin American Philosophy. Her main research interests lie in Latin American Philosophy and Latina feminism.
