Description
Cedarburg Rock, Pop, Jazz and Blues Music Festivals LLC will host the first annual Autism Acceptance Music Festival that is free to the public on August 11, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Cedar Creek Park in Cedarburg, WI. The event will feature several local rock, pop, jazz and blues bands including DB Orchestra, TBurns, Johnny T-Bird & the MPs, Loud Library, Mitch Shiner & Friends, Benjamin Trick, Tango En Fuego, Dad Co., Seet and Chronic Edge.
Cedarburg Rock, Pop, Jazz and Blues Music Festivals LLC is accepting donations for Islands of Brilliance (http://islandsofbrilliance.org), which is an experiential learning program designed specifically for children, teens, and young adults on the autism spectrum. Islands of Brilliance utilizes project-based learning which allows students to grow their intrinsic capabilities and practice communication, increasing their likelihood of independence as adults. IOB design workshops create a space for students to explore creativity through the use of technology, during which they learn technical skills and grow confidence in critical social and peer-to-peer interactions.
The Autism Acceptance Music Festival was created to bring awareness to Autism Acceptance with the goal of raising funds to allow children, teens and young adults to participate in programs such as Islands of Brilliance.
